Congratulations to Dr. Suzanne Griset, an archaeologist, ceramic analyst, and ethnographer out of our Tucson office, on being named the Lawrence S. Semo Scientific Achievement Award winner for the second quarter of 2022!

WHAT HAPPENED?

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) proposed listing the tricolored bat as endangered under the Endangered Species Act. The proposed rule cites white-nose syndrome as the primary factor influencing the species’ viability, followed by deaths at wind farms, habitat loss, and effects from climate change.

Josh Peabody has been promoted to the Northern and Central California Cultural Resources Director. In this new role, he will build and lead a team of archaeologists, architectural historians, paleontologists, and other cultural resources specialists within SWCA’s Northern and Central California subregion.
