Update January 25, 2023: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is delaying the effective date of the final rule to reclassify the northern long-eared bat from threatened to endangered under the Endangered Species Act. The agency is extending the effective date by 60 days, from January 30, 2023, to March 31, 2023.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is proposing to list the Florida Keys mole skink as threatened under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Most of the designated habitat is on land owned or managed by the state, county, or federal government. Private property comprises approximately 13 percent of the area within the designation.
