CEQ wants to hear from you about GHG and climate!

The Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) published interim guidance on analyzing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and subsequent climate change impacts under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) on January 9, 2023. This guidance updates CEQ’s 2016 interim guidance and clarifies that federal agencies should disclose project GHG emissions, including the social cost of those emissions.

The U.S.

On December 30, 2022, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced a final rule that will update the definition of waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) for use in regulations under the Clean Water Act (CWA). This rule is the latest, but certainly not the last, attempt to codify nationwide regulations that define the jurisdictional extent of the CWA.
