SWCA Senior Cultural Resources Technical Director Scott Phillips was recently honored with a 2024 President’s Award, given in recognition for his outstanding services to the American Cultural Resources Association (ACRA).
As SWCA’s ACRA member representative since 2020, Phillips volunteered to chair the newly formed ACRA Partnerships Committee in 2021. During his tenure, Phillips helped ACRA strengthen its partnerships with organizations like the National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP).
“I believe that when we participate in professional organizations we need to be involved, not simply attend conferences or events and give presentations,” said Phillips. “I appreciate the recognition of my commitment to the Partnership Committee and on growing ACRA relationships with sister organizations where it proves beneficial to everyone. I appreciate the substantial support given by the committee, the ACRA Executive Director, and the Board.”
In addition to chairing ACRA’s Partnership committee, Phillips was elected as a member to the ACRA Board of Directors in 2023.
As a national network of professional members and service partners representing the cultural resource management (CRM) industry and associated fields of study, ACRA’s mission is to ensure that every development project is informed by our past—and by the insights of all stakeholders and community members —and that every project seizes the opportunity to grow our shared understanding of the multi-faceted cultural heritage of the United States.
