535 employee volunteer hours
Total impact of $12,400
Supported 30 local and national organizations
This April, SWCA launched a companywide Gives Back campaign, Spring into Action. In honor of Earth Day, this month-long campaign focused on environmental stewardship efforts across the country.
Volunteer activities included tree and native vegetation planting, participating in neighborhood and highway trash pickups, cleaning up beaches and rivers, presenting on environmental education, maintaining community gardens, and more. Employees volunteered 535 hours cleaning up and restoring their local trails, waterbodies, open spaces, parks, and neighborhoods.
To match employee volunteer hours, SWCA donated $10,000 to two national environmental organizations, Ecosystem Restoration Camp and River Network. Additionally, employees donated $400 to local environmental organizations, and our Houston office donated $2,000 to purchase trees for a local Earth Day planting event, totaling $12,400 in financial impact for this campaign.
Over the last decade, SWCA’s Gives Back program has been committed to making a positive impact in the communities we serve. Aligning with our sustainability framework, our Spring into Action campaign contributed to our Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 and 15.
