With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Nate Wojcik provides a wide range of ecological and environmental research services to clients in the renewable energy, oil and gas, transmission, mining, and land development industries. Nate’s experience includes extensive vegetation and soil surveys, intensive habitat surveys and assessments for plant and wildlife species, investigation of management applications on ecosystem function and succession, and conservation and reclamation planning. He specializes in integrating concepts founded in successional ecology into restoration planning to facilitate stages of ecosystem recovery.
Nate is also responsible for conservation planning, habitat modeling, integrated vegetation management, noxious and invasive weed management, restoration and reclamation planning, ecological site correlation, and soil evaluations. He has worked extensively with local municipalities and state and federal agencies on the development of conservation and mitigation approaches, reclamation and restoration strategies, and habitat mitigation practices. In support of land use development and other projects, Nate has designed and implemented conservation and restoration plans, biological and endangered species protections, noxious weed inventories and management plans, sensitive species habitat models, and vegetation mapping efforts.
In 2020, Nathan received SWCA’s quarterly Larry Semo Scientific Merit Award and the annual Steven W. Carothers Scientific Merit Award, demonstrating his commitment to scientific excellence and how he exemplifies SWCA’s core values.
