The Cultural Side of NEPA: Addressing Cultural Resources in NEPA Analysis
The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires a comprehensive look at the impacts of federal actions on the “human environment” – the natural and physical environment and its relationship with human culture. This course helps those who specialize in NEPA or Section 106 understand the cultural values that people attach to aspects of the environment, and the special legal requirements and professional approaches that apply to different cultural resource types. Participants learn how to address the cultural environment using different forms of NEPA analysis and documentation.
